Is there a way when a user uploads a picture 1600x1200 for me to resize the picture to 800x600 and have it shown in the album as 600x450?

What I am looking for is when you browse an album the picture would have max resolution of 600 pixels so it can be viewed nicely on a screen, but when you click on the picture it would pop up as 800x600.

1)I have tried to do it under Admin Tools, but this will set it into one size 600x450 and I will loose the option of having 800x600.
2)If I download the original 1600x1200 and resize to them to 800x600 the gallery remmebres the 1600x1200 pop up window and the picture (800x600) becomes stretched to 1600x1200

Thanks for any help

resizing on upload is a feature in cpg1.4.x, and there's a hack for cpg1.3.x afaik.
