I seriously have no idea what is going on here. If someone could so much as point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, because again, I have no clue. The Classic theme (the one that comes default with CPG) works fine. However, if I try to change to any other theme that CPG came with, I get an error:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '' (ASCII=16) state=1 in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 3195

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '*' in /usr/local/dh/cgi-system/php.cgi on line 3195

I tried uploading a new theme from this site and I am still recieving this error. Is this a Coppermine related error? Naturally, I would assume it would be...but I can't find the directory it is referring to in the Coppermine folders so maybe it's on the server side?

Thanks.

EDIT: Okay, that box does not exist in the error...it's actually a pair of quotation marks. For some awkward reason it is not letting me backspace it...

the error message refers to a non-coppermine file. Imo this is related to "exotic" server setup. Please post a link to your coppermine gallery.

Thanks for the response, GauGau. Here is a link to my gallery: For some reason a direct link isn't working. It's bringing me to a page stating I can't access the file directly. Please go to http://ww.ringobsession.net and on the left, the very last link, says "CLICK". This will bring you to my gallery. Sorry for the inconvienance, but I know no other way. Right now it's running on the default Classic theme (the only theme that works). Did you need me to choose another theme so the error will display for you? Also, I'm not too sure what you mean by "exotic" server setup. I use Dreamhost as my hosting company, so if this is not something you know I can fix should I contact tech support?

I'm using version 1.3.3. My Coppermine directory is in the root of my Postnuke install. And I also have pnCPG which is located in my modules directory...in case any of that is actually helpful.

Thanks for taking the time.

The link you posted actually lacks one "w" in "www". However, the link of your coppermine install is http://www.ringobsession.net/CPG/
I was able to switch themes just fine when viewing the coppermine gallery standalone, so I guess your question is related to the postnuke stuff that provides a wrapper (by embedding the page using an iframe or similar). Quite frankly, I have no idea about the actual postnuke stuff, so I' moving this thread from "coppermine-gallery.net  |  Support  |  CPG 1.3 Standalone Support  |  cpg1.3 Themes/Skins/Templates" to the pnCPG sub-board.

Thanks GauGau, hopefully someone else may know the problem. However, I do have one more question for you. You said the link to my Coppermine install is http://www.ringobsession.net/CPG/ does this mean I should link to that instead of linking to http://www.ringobsession.net/index.php?module=pnCPG which I have been using? Are the two links basically the same? Or should I be using a certain one?

Just incase this bit of information may help whomever may be trying to solve my problem, I have installed NukeWrapper now and am linking to Coppermine using it. Dunno if that has anything to do with using iframes such as GauGau was speaking of.

Joachim Müller

http://www.ringobsession.net/CPG/ is a link to the standalone install (without postnuke wrapping it). The second one is used to wrap it into postnuke. Please refer to the pnCPG docs on how to integrate it into postnuke, I have no idea about this.

Thanks again GauGau for the wonderful help.

I already have CPG integrated with Postnuke via pnCPG.I point to the gallery using Nuke Wrapper: http://www.ringobsession.net/page.php?file=/CPG/index.php If anyone knows about Postnuke, or how to fix my problem, help would be greatly appreciated. Just to review: I am trying to fix the problem with the themes. I get an error anytime I try to change my theme, whether it be the ones CPG came with or newly installed themes. None work but the Classic one CPG came with by default.

as I suggested above: changing the theme works perfectly well when visiting coppermine as standalone, so I suggest you just do that: go to your coppermine page (when logged in as admin already) in a separate window (by going to http://www.ringobsession.net/CPG/), then go to coppermine's config, change the theme there, apply your changes, clear your cookies and then try again.

I saw what you posted before but didn't exactly understand what you meant. Thank you for clarifying because what you posted worked great. Thanks so much for all your help!
