Writing the average rating (rather than the star image) below the picture

Hi, I was told to go to the functions.inc.php file to remove the star images and add the average rating as plain text, however my php skills are not that advanced 

The only caption I need is the actual average rating rounded to the nearest tenth.

Does no one know how to include the numerical image rating as a caption rather than a star image?

You could edit the images in your favorite paint program to represent numbers.
