Images show up broken, don't show up at all in album

I've just installed Coppermine here (http://just-like-magic.org/faceofgod) and have been having a problem uploading images. I've searched this board but cannot find anything that directly reflects my problem. I've also tried CHMODing folders to 777 or 755, including the /albums directory and subdirectories. That still doesn't help.

When I go to Upload File, I'll select it from my drive, upload it, and get a "1 uploads were successful" message. After clicking continue, it will ask me to enter the file information but the image is broken. Even if I enter the file info and click Continue, it will say, "The previous file could not be placed. You have successfully placed all the files." That is the closet to an error message I get through this whole process. If I check the album where I uploaded the image, there are zero images. So obviously the upload wasn't successful. Basically, it will allow me to go through the upload process, but the image shows up broken, and then in the Albums it doesn't look like I tried to upload anything at all because there are zero images to display.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any other information, just let me know and I'd be happy to post it.

Oops, sorry. Didn't see that last bit about the test user. I've changed all the other settings the way the tutorial said as well. Here is the username and password to log in:

That means the path to Imagemagick's convert program is incorrect. Determine the correct path and enter it into your config screen or see if GD2 is available.

Ah. I never even thought of that. It's actually not even my server so I wasn't sure what was installed, but you were right. I changed it to GD2 and now everything works fine. Thank you so much for the help!
