Hi,

I have a coppermine gallery running at http://polanri.free.fr/, I just upgraded without any problems to 1.4.

While looking at the new features, I installed the sample plugin from the admin / config page, it displayed a message "This is sample data returned from plugin sample plugin" in red on the page.
Then I wanted to return to my gallery index through  the "home" button and I got a "500 Internal server error" page, now that's all I can get.

Is there a way I can reset to the default config or something like that?

I tried changing "enable_plugins" from 1 to 0 directly in my SQL db but it doesn't work.

Thanks :)

Hi

It also happened to me.  The way I solved the problem was to delete the .htaccess file on the server.  It's in your coppermine folder.  You can do this with your FTP access or the "file manager" of your hosting service.
This should solve your problem.

Just to help avoid issues for people... do either of your hosts allow you to use .htaccess files?

Oh I know that my server doesn't completely support htaccess, it does but with a lot of limitations.  That was why it made that error.

You mean the SEF plugin, not the sample plugin ?

I meant the Sample plugin, I did not tried the SEF plugin since I don't need it and I had problems with the other :)

My host (free.fr) supports .htaccess files since they explain on their support pages how to set up password protected dirs with .htaccess. However I think that they have restricted the other possible .htaccess commands.

the sample plugin doesn't write an .htaccess file, it does little to nothing. Hard to imagine that it's suppossed to do what you described.
