Hi all,

I'm running 1.3.5 and encountered a problem...

After I finally got the xp publishing wizard to work I am unable to delete files uploaded that way...
I get the following error :

Directory 'albums/wpw-20051230/' is not writable, files can't be deleted

Files uploaded the normal way can be deleted without any problem.

I assume if I chmod the wpw-20051230 folder it is possible to delete the file (don't have ftp access from work), but that's not really a solution since the following xp publish upload will create another folder...

Somebody got an idea?

Regards,

Tommy

Are you trying to delete the files via the Coppermine interface, and getting the error message that way?

Yes indeed, through the Coppermine Interface...

Thanx in advance for your help

I have no idea to be honest... I have a paid Lycos webhosting package...

Is there any way I can find out?

PS : I just tried to chmod the files using my ftp program, doesn't work, I get the following error :

STATUS:>     Changing file attributes "wpw-20051230".
COMMAND:>   SITE CHMOD 777 /www/gallery/albums/wpw-20051230
      550 /www/gallery/albums/wpw-20051230: Operation not permitted
ERROR:>      Requested action not taken (e.g., file or directory not found, no access).

Seems I'm not able to delete the picture at all...

no idea what that means, sorry...

Anyway, you obviously have never heard about Lycos, cheap hosting, cheap service...

Try sending the instructions to them anyway. They should be able to decipher it.

You get what you pay for.  Upgrade to a better host.
