I now (finaly) have this great gallery working with all needed features except for one.

No one is able to place any comments to the pictures. Nothing happends when the "ok" button is pressed. Voting works fine. I have tried to alter the permissions to allow anyone to leave comments - no luck :-( In the debug window I get this:

[can_post_comments] => 1

so I guess permissions should be fine.

The smilies does not seem to work either - it is like all comment-related buttons are disabled?

did you allow comments in album properties?

jpholding

yes. Comments are currently allowed for all albums and users (except banned)

Joachim Müller

in album properties as well as groups?

jpholding

yes, sorry - that was what I ment.

Joachim Müller

post a screenshot of both screens then please.

you're using the outdated version cpg1.4.1 beta that was never meant to be used live. Upgrade to cpg1.4.3

jpholding

But as far as I have read in the forum, 1.4.3 does not contain the the mambo bridge. Is there a way of upgrading without destroying this?

Joachim Müller

who said so? Cpg1.4.3 contains a mambo bridge file. Just download the package and see for yourself.

jpholding

Well, problem solved.

Installing 1.4.3 worked - until I added my own theme. Re-modifying the sample theme to crate my own custom theme again solved the problem. Not sure excactly where the problem was, but it is working now, and obviously it was my own fault.

About the mentioned missing mambo bridge support in 1.4.3, I've read it in some thread at mamboserver.com regarding getting cpg intergrated without the mambo wrapper. But it seems to work perfect for me with the bridge and without the wrapper. If anyone is interrested, let me know. Then I will dig into it and find the thread.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the good and very fast support.

I've got the exact same problem! I use to run the 1.2 version which work just fine! Then upgraded to 1.4 beta which really didn't work very well. Since I've updated once again to the last stable version (1.4.4 stable) I've once again can use the "delete picture" button to delete pictures! But now the commentary just isnt' working. I'm in the exact same position as jpholding was! The buttons there and everything seems fine, but the commentary just isn't working, neither are the smilies.
Maybe you should look in the a universal solution to this problem?
I'll let you know if I find out exactly what caused the problem, from reading the thread it seems to be theme related.
Meanwhile, feel free to give me suggestions!
