images,thumbs,etc not appearing

On my gallery, the images don't appear. I have reloaded all images using the function under maintenance. I'm not sure if this is a server issue as the jpegs on my entry page also don't appear. What could be the problem? I haven't toggled debug on just yet, but will and paste code here if it helps. Strangely the index.html image appears without problem.

What will help is a link to your gallery, and a test user login and password.

OH S#$(&#T  I just checked the board...and read NOT TO PRESS DEBUG!  I already did.  Well I'm a hard worker, so I don't have a problem re-installing everything... All 20 plu albums :-(

If the problem recurs then I know it is definitely related to the host's server.  I doubt it's related to coppermine.
Plus I also had a very knowledgeable friend check it out and he said it sounds like it's server side and not related to the PHP script install (coppermine).
I did notice this problem when uploading html pages for my entrance pages and tble of contents pages. I attempted to use a Java script banner ad rotation plug-in and all went haywire. 
I'm hoping it's actually related to the javascript and not my host as I'd hate to think they are slacking.  A similar issue happened 2 months ago when I tested gallery v2. I had so many problems with gallery2 that I just called it quits.

In response to the test login can I post it here?  Also my gallery contains some nude photos as I am a professional photographer, and I don't want to offend anyone.  Just let me know how to proceed.

What?! Where did you get the idea you shouldn't turn on the debug? And turning it on shouldn't cause you to have to re-install.

Well, unless GauGau says otherwise, I would say go ahead and post the link and test user. If you are really uncomfortable posting it, you can PM that info to me. I guess we are sort of like doctors here - if the "patient" has symptoms of a problem we gotta examine the patient - even if the patient's buck nekkid & has porno tattoos.

Well, we don't have to worry about nudity! You are right, nothing is showing up.

What is happening is that the "alt" tag for the images is being displayed in place of the image itself. Doing a "view source" on the various pages shows that the html is being output correctly. However, if I do a "view image," I get the following:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /galleryspace/cpg143/albums/fashionista/bootshs.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.34 Server at www.josefaro.com Port 80

This means that you do not have either the albums directory or the fashionista directory chmod set correctly. Make sure these are set to at least 755 and your problem should be solved.

It seems to be a hotlink setup that doesn't allow for empty referers. You can either change the hotlink setting or have users enable referer sending.

@nontekkyguy & Blueiris: thanks for thinking before posting adult links. We have a policy: it's OK to post links to coppermine pages you're having issues with even if they contain adult (or non-worksafe) content, as long as you post a warning with it - something like

The site I'm having issues with is http://mysite.tld/coppermine_folder/ (Warning: link is not worksafe)

is fine.
