User picture upload - with more options

Hello there,

i have a request that has to do with the Upload Image option registered users have. Registered user are allowed to upload to Albums when that album has been set to accept pictures from users.

I would like to know if is possible to change that option. I am building a site for the large groups of scouts in the netherlands which is going to serve as a picture portal for scouts to go to after an event has taken place. They can then look at the pictures taken by other participating groups and they can choose to upload their own selection of pictures and leaving a link to their own website where the rest is.

The building of the site is going wel, thanks to this forum. But i have run into a little bit of a challenge. I want the Upload page for the registered users changed so they will be able to:
- Choose which pictures to upload (like they can now)
- Choose which category the pictures are ment for
- Make a new album (in which they write their scouting group name)
- Enter the URL of their own picture gallery , where the rest of their pictures are shown.

The album will then be made on the FTP side in the corresponding category and the pictures will be uploaded. The pictures will not be made public right away. First a admin will have to review the pictures and decide to make them public or not, while also being able to delete any picture which is not suitable. When the Admin makes the new album public it will show up on the front site in the correct category.
The link that was provided by the user will be added by the Admin to a miniCMS page in the category where the pics were uploaded to.

I am not sure i make my idea clear but i will be happy to answer any questions.

p.s. I know cpgNG has this option in some way. I think this is an option worthwhile to put into the 1.4.* range as wel.

didn't understand the question in the first place, that's why I didn't answer. Are you requesting a new feature for a future coppermine version? Are you looking for someone to accomplish a mod for you?

Mmm i think it is a mod on the current user upload function in 1.4.2.

I saw the same option in the cpNG version, where users can make albums themselves and decide in which category it is placed.
I would like that option in 1.4.2. as wel but with one extra thing and that is that the newly created album stays offline until it is approved by the admin.

Is it more clear now what i would like to request ?

cpgNG features won't be backported into cpg1.4.x. In fact, no new features will be added to cpg1.4.x at all. You're welcome to post you custom mod though.
