First, Coppermine is awesome. The translation in french is very good as well. Gallery does'nt hold the candle to this, in my opinion.  8)

I want to change the thumbnails size from 100 to, say 150. I could do this in the configuration page but there is an asterisk in front of the entry saying that the value shouldn't be changed if images already exist...

What happens if i change the value anyway? Will i lose all the existing thumbnails?

My guess would be no, but i'd like a confirmation before i try it for real.  8)

thank you for the keen support you all are providing for this free software.

You should use the batch resize utility to accomplish this task. When you have resized all the thumbs with it, then change the settings in the config panel.
"Then, Fletch," that bright creature said to him, and the voice was very kind, "let's begin with level flight . . . ."

 Mmmh... Weird... I just changed the thumbnail size in the configs and magic! all the thumbnails have the new size. I'm quite puzzled as to the meaning of the asterisk then...

Anyhow, that's another good point for coppermine!  8)

They don't have the new size, only the php-page says they have. So your browser just scales them up. (If you watch only the jpeg file you will see it).
After using the above mentioned tool your thumbnails itselves will have the new size.

Oook, now i understand.

Then i think that the warning asterisk is not appropriate, since you can change this size without any other inconvenient beside that the old thumbnails will have the old size (although they will show up scaled as you explain).

So i would respectfully suggest to remove this scary asterisk and put something else, like a double asterisk pointing to another footnote saying "these changes will not have any effect on previously worked up photos" or something like that.

thank you for all these swift answers!

cheers
