Here's what I need:

I approve all images from registered users.  I would like to immediately move their Album into a specific Category after approval.  I can't seem to move 'User Gallery' images into other Categories once I approve them.

I hope I'm overlooking something simple...

No, you cannot move user albums.  They are fixed to that category.

If you want them in a different category, and you are requiring approval anyway, why not let them upload to an album in the category you want them in anyway.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

That sounds perfect, so why don't they have an option to do that now?

How do I allow them to upload to other albums?

First, you must set the group permissions to allow that group, i.e. registered, to upload pics, but you can still require admin approval.

Then you must change each albums properties to allow visitors to upload to yes.  The default when you create a new album is 'no'.

this way, albums you want to contain users pics can, and those you don't are still just for admin to put pics in.

I knew all that, but found out you have to have at least ONE picture in an album before you can set the Album permissions to allow viewers to upload to it... hope this helps others from pulling out all their hair... LOL

I'm not sure, I think this has already been fixed in the codebase, but no "howto fix it for existing installs" has been released. Will have to look into it. Please leave the status of the tracker open (as a reminder)...
