Hello,
I tried to reduce the size of my FTP account (Free) and deleted all original photos for all my albums in order to save space. I used the "delete original size photos" in Admin tools.
I should have save about 750 Mb (it was 1024 Mb) however the size of my FTP didn't change at all !!

Looking directly at the content of the FTP, I can see the original images have been removed and "normal_" files have been renamed correctly. All is apparetnly OK. Moreover CPG indicates that my Profile is using 280 Mb.

I really don't understand why I didn't save any space on the FTP and where are the files that takes the 700 Mb!

Do you know if "delete original size photos" really remove file or simply hide them or pack them in a particular file somewhere ??? I cannot see any explanation.

Thanks a lot for HELP ;-)

The fullsize pic is deleted and then the normal_ version  is renamed to the name of the original. There is no moving or archiving involved. Coppermine tells you the size from the database entries, it's not reading filesizes from the disk at this point. How are you checking the size via FTP ?

Thanks for responding.

Ok Coppermine gives me more or less the theorical size of my ftp.
On my side I check with SmartFtp. I have 900 photos and I can see that now each one is less than 100 Kb + few video (about 200 Mb). That's why I think CPM is right saying the Db is 280 Mb.

If there is no archinving nor moving.... I think it means CPM is not guilty. I will have a look with Free FTP then.

Deleting manually some files updates correctly the FTP size in SmartFTP, however when the operation is done by CPM (even if the file disappears), the FTP size doesn't change...

Nothing obvious... :-\
