Well, I just read through the sticky and will not be upgrading through fantastico anymore, but I was having the problem where people could not view my albums, so I restored factory defaults. Now, I can't login with my administrator username and password. My question is this, I lost quite a few of my settings. I notice that in fantastico there are some backup files. Can I somehow restore my old installation, then upgrade manually? I'm not sure where the backups are located, but first is this possible, before I go any further?

Joachim Müller

we have no idea how fantastico works and if or where it stores backups. Ask your webhost who provides the fantastico panel to you.

Sorry about that.
I figured it out and can log back in, but my old settings are not back to normal. Guess I will have to redo them.... :(.
I am getting this era at the bottom now...

IT also there was a problem processing a database query.

Im going to go ahead manually upgrade. Maybe that will fix it.

Where can I find steps to upgrade my version?

Joachim Müller

In the documentation that comes with the package (inside the docs folder). Documentation is available online as well (surprisingly under the menu item "documentation" at the very top of this screen). Go to the section named "Upgrading". Yes, I can confirm that this is a very confusing naming scheme that we have only come up with to confuse newbies ;). In your first posting your claimed to have read the sticky thread about not using Fantastico because it is buggy, yet you haven't managed to find the documentation link ::)?

I read enough of it to figure out I was having a problem that was due to fantastico. Sorry for not being directly clear. Don't bite my head off....sheesh. I will read through it. Thanks!
