Hi

I know I'm not supposed to remove the "Powered by Coppermine Photo Gallery" tag at the bottom, but It doesn't look good on my site if I don't edit it some how. Please look at http://www.wihiw.com/members.html

I have the CPG in a frame on the page. I would like to have the coppermine tag placed at the bottom of the page like I have now. Can someone help me do this without breaking the license agreement?

Kindest regards

Short answer: no, we can't help you, as you mustn't do what you're up to. Don't use IFRAMES, they suck.

From http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#editCopyrights:
QuoteHow do I remove/edit the bottom line "Powered by Coppermine" ?

You mustn't remove the line - it's part of the deal: you're allowed to use and modify Coppermine on your site, but this line must remain! We feel strongly that it is more than a justified demand to give credit where credit is due. We hope that you will agree with us and just be glad that such a great piece of software is available for use at NO COST, with no banner ads or embedded spyware, to you.
You are allowed to change the way the line looks by editing the CSS class to make it fit into the design of your site; edit /themes/yourtheme/style.css, look for the class "Footer" and change the settings there as you wish.
Note: PLEASE don't ask idiotic questions on how to remove this line in the Coppermine Photo Gallery Support Board - your posting will be deleted!
I highlighted the important bit, locking this thread.

Hi GauGau

You misunderstood what I ment in post http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=29407

I will remove my own copyright notice at the bottom of the page, but I would like to have the original copyright notice displayed permenantly at the bottom of the page instead of it following the way CPG moves in terms of how small the height of the CPG table is on the various pages. I would like to have to help to make it stay at the bottom alway and not move up and down. I don't want to remove it. I would also like to add my own copyright to the original tag so the CPG tag looks like my tags on the other pages of the site. I will remove the powered by coppermine on the other pages if this is wrong, but I just like that it looks similar on all the pages.

I didn't want to use iframes but I tried to insert CPG into my template, but it screwed up my java menu. CPG changed the width of the menu and I could find out how to change it so I went with the iframe.

If you could help me with the copyright editing and maybe make CPG not screw up my menu, I would be grateful.

Kindest regards

I understood you perfectly well - you asked how to modify the tag. However, I posted the FAQ entry that tells you that we won't tolerate questions on the tag at all - be they questions how to remove it or edit it. Telling you how you can modify it would give others the information needed to delete it. Obviously, we won't do that. Questions about the tag go unanswered and the threads get locked or even deleted. That's why I locked the other thread, to end the discussion. Now you started even another thread (merging with the previous one). Thread stays locked. Ask another question on the tag and get banned permanently >:(. It's part of the license coppermine comes with: the tag has to remain unmodified and unobstructed - if this breaks your custom layout, that's too bad. Hence my suggestion to review the whole idea of using an iframe. End of story.
