I have been reading this board for hours and I still can't figure out how to get batch upload working.

I have triple checked that all relevant folders are set for 777.
I have done the debug thing.

Here is a test user account.

I was able to upload an image to an album with the upload image link at top.
But, when I then tried to do a batch upload, it gave this error.

There are no folders inside the "albums" folder yet.

Done all this:
    * Go to your coppermine page and log in as admin
check
    * Go to the config screen
check
    * Scroll to the bottom of the page
check
    * Expand the "Maintenance settings" section by clicking on it
check
    * Enable debug mode for everyone
check
    * Leave display of notices switched off
check
    * Save the new settings by clicking on "Save new configuration"
check
    * Go to the "groups" panel
check
    * Set the upload form configuration for all groups to "Single file uploads only" (set File upload boxes to "1", URI upload boxes to "0" and No. of boxes to "fixed")
check
    * Save your new settings
check

What am I doing wrong?

When I installed, I had 3 folders inside the 'album' folder.  one was uploads and that is where I ftp the picture into to upload to my coppermine gallery.  Might need to recopy the album folder to the server.

Thanks.
I now see the folder Uploads.

However, I was hoping that I could migrate the 200 megabytes of pics already on my frame based site to new galleries.

Okay, sorry to be such an idiot.
I guess I can ftp my image folders over to the album folder.
Would be nice if I could just give the absolute paths to where the images already are.

Thanks

As I understand it, CP only keeps the location of the files it displays, being on your computer would slow down the process bringing them across the web all the time.  The need to be on the server... I think.  Hope I understood your question.

jobo, you're right - the pics mustn't exist on another machine. However, my guess is that forkedatfark already has the files already on the webserver, but outside the coppermine folder. If you want the pics to remain where they currently are, you could create a symlink (or have it created by your webhost) if you're on Lunix. However, the cleanest solution is to move them into subfolders within coppermine's albums folder.

Yes, I was going to host them on the web server, not my PC.
I guess I will just have to ftp them all to coppermine.

Thanks
