Hello, I'm lost.

I installed my gallery some time ago, on http://www.encyclopedie-hp.org/gallery/

The installation did very well, but for the upload, it's a mess, and I don't understant anything in php and this debug mod stuff!

So, here's the problem:

I created all the albums and categories, without any problem. I uploaded my pics with my ftp, without any problem. But, when I want to put the in the categories, the gallery put them in the next category! So I had to create a "ghost" category so the program could send the files in the good category. I want to have the pics in the category 3, I have to send them in the category 2, and so on! I don't believe it!

So, my trick worked for some time, and then it stopped working. So now my gallery is incomplete and I don't know what to do. Help me, please! I checked the file names, the folder names, and other stuff, but nothing happens. Maybe I misplaced or erased something without knowing it.

If it can be useful :

Have you set the permission of some folders to 777?

uploading worked fine for me (see http://www.encyclopedie-hp.org/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-886). Uploads never go into categories, but albums. What's the actual question?

klow

Sorry if I was not very clear.

The actual question is:

When I want to add pictures in an album, why does the picture go to the next album? Why does a picture go in the "album 2" when I added it to the "album 1"?

For the permissions, everything is ok, by the way.

Sending unsoliticed PMs to devs shows that:

The only thing it will do is increasing your negative karma ::).

Sorry for the mp, GauGau. It won't happen again! I post now in my old post.

So, I fully re-installed the Gallery, and the problems continues.

I'm pretty sure when you upload it'll perfectly work. But it doesn't for me!

So, I created 5 categories, with a lot of albums inside. I put all my pics on the ftp, then started to put them in the appropriate albums. It was successful with the 2 firt categories, and when I started the third one, my pictures were sent into the 4th category! Why?? Each time I try to put them in a album, there's always a big shift, putting the pics in an album in the next category. Why??

About the permissions, they're all put to 777 (I can publish my pictures, they just go in the wrong place!), and the installation was done without any problems, and done by my host in person!

I hope now my problem appears clear to you, and it's the same problem than when I installed the gallery the first time. So, can you help??...

Now, my pics are not displayed anymore, and I don't know why, because I didn't change anything.

Gallery link:

http://www.encyclopedie-hp.org/gallery/indexx.php (I renamed "index" because I don't want users to visit the gallery now and if I put it offline you can't visit it)

my test uplod went into exactly that album I've chosen http://www.encyclopedie-hp.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=46

that none of your pics show up... either you've deleted intermediate and thumbs or permissions on the files are wrong. Fullsized images still exist and can be accessed (eg. http://www.encyclopedie-hp.org/gallery/albums/movie_pics/02_cs/03divers/02art/aragog4.jpg ). Please check within your FTP client or in a shell

klow

Thanks for trying to help! For the pictures, I think the thumbnails have been deleted, although I don't know how.

I know your updload would have work without any problem, but can you understand why it doesn't work for me?...

Stramm

maybe you upload to large pics and run into server sided limitations, read the sticky threads in the upload trouble forum for more info

klow

I don't even know what you're talking about...

I thought about something else, is it possible it creates confusion when 2 sub-folders carry the same name?..

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME REAL HELP!!!  :'( :'( :'( :'(

klow

That's so funny, nobody cares.  :D Thanks for this so helpful forum!

?? What else do you want to hear? I've already said everything I can tell you and what's necessary to know to find a solution (your server setup!!!)

Quotemaybe you upload to large pics and run into server sided limitations, read the sticky threads in the upload trouble forum for more info

If you're to lazy to search that thread... it's just two clicks away. But if you need the one click solution http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=24088.msg110684#msg110684

It's fixed! There was a confusions with some folders that had the same names, as I thought. I renamed them, erased the db with phpMyAdmin and started all over again. And it worked perfectly well!

So, my apologizes for having been kind of unkind with the community, and thanks a lot for your patience.
