i'm using cpg along with phpbb and have integrated the login with phpbb, it works fine :)

i just want to know if i can set the a group of users as admin because i have a few people who help me out with the gallery and i need them to be able to create categories and albums to upload pictures to.

i searched the forum and didn't find any topics that told how to do this and its not in the documentation either. if it is.. i must be blind :P

When you have integrated with a bbs, the group controls/user management are handled by the bbs, not coppermine (afaik).

So you would have to set changes there.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

well coppermine does have a group manager which syncs with the bb groups thus allowing me to give permission. But the group permissions doesnt allow me to set a group as admin..

and i dun think i want to take the step to make those users admin of the forum just because i want them to create categories and albums.

also one user reported to me that when he clicked on the upload link, it said that he had no permission even though the group he is in has permission. How does the permission handling work in cpg?

Coppermine has no way of giving partial admin rights, such as moderators.  So if you cannot do it via the bbs, you are stuck I'm afraid.

This is a different question.  To upload, users must be in a group that has group permission, AND there must be at least one album whose propeties allow visitors to upload to it.
The default when you create an album is 'visitors can upload' is NO, so go to the album properties, for each album, and change the permission there.
This does not mean any visitor can upload to it, just visitors in groups who have permission.

hope this helps.
