I've already read probably all the topics concerning this problem

hello,
I know it seems to be a bit boring to read the same threads again and again, but I guess there's nothing left to do. I just can't log in to my admin panel.
first of all I followed the upgrade steps accurately. I could log in THEN. everything seemed to be ok, even the versioncheck, but I didn't manage to run my bridge manager because I couldn't get the access to this particular page. I wanted to do the bridge a bit later but then my problems with logging in began.
I've already tried all this phpMyAdmin stuff and it didn't solve my problems, then I removed the cookies and it didn't help either...
after logging, my browser redirects me to the main page, but the admin panel isn't shown. I thought I didn't manage to log in, but phpMyAdmin tool shows that I was then...logged!
my gallery's address: http://posh-madness.net/photos/index.php
luv,
gabi

What error message did you get? If you got
QuoteYou don't have permission to access this page.
, then you simply are not logged in as admin. Make sure your login sticks.

vici

actually I don't get ANY message. the coppermine accepts my login and password, then it redirects me to the main page of the gallery without any changes, I mean I'm not logged in and my admin panel isn't shown =(

well it's not really about having permission to access the page, it was probably sth wrong with the connection as its time was too long

Paver

Try clearing your browser's cookies & cache.

I've also done it =(

vici

maybe I have accidentally overwritten include/config.inc.php? could it have caused so many problems??

Joachim Müller

no - coppermine wouldn't be working at all if there were incorrect mySql access data in config.inc.php. Please don't post debug_output unless requested.

Please post a test nonadmin account.
you mean the debug output or a username with password?

have you found anything my dear?
in the logs folder I've found a security log with a message 'Failed login attempt with Username: (lots of users here, no reasons though)'

Joachim Müller

this is not a hotline, allow more than just 5 hours before bumping ::)

Well, I noticed your default theme had extra cookies pertaining to advertisement, so I thought maybe the ad might effect the cookies by sending extra code. The Classic theme did not have the code.

I tried logging in using both themes and neither stayed logged in.

Check at the end of include/config.inc.php. Does it have any extra whitespace after the last bit of code? Even a space or blank line can cause issues.

vici

I've already tried different themes and checked if there is a blank line in the config file a bit earlier =( but it didn't help...
I remember that the problems began when I decided to run a bridge manager. I chose the right link, it seemed to load but then my IE showed the blank page probably due to the connection problems
maybe the bridge was loaded indeed, but it didn't change all the things it was supposed to change? this is just an assumption, because there wasn't any report from coppermine
do you think I should install the script once again? I would just backup the albums folder, the users and some other more specific features hoping that the installation of the script will erase the faulty settings...what do you think? oh, I heard there are some differences between the users' base in cpg 1.3.3 and 1.4.5. if there are, I guess I'll have to run the bridge manager, won't I?

vici

ok, I figured out how to solve this problem
it was indeed sth wrong with the bridge - my user groups were lost and I had to create them in the cpg_usergroups table using myPHPadmin tool
anyway, I'm glad you were all willing to help me. maybe this thread really looks like a hotline, but believe me, it's so hard to stay calm when the gallery is a mess...
