I am having trouble sending ecards. Here is the link http://www.eastgermanshepherdpups.com/gallery/
I checked phpinfo and here is what it says. sendmail_from   no value, sendmail_path  /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

I noticed tonight if I send the ecard from my domain as in jenna@eastgermanshepherdpups.com it works. I also checked the admin activation emails and they work just can't get the ecards to work from any other domain.

thanks

make sure that your webhost allows to use sendmail in that way. There might be an anti-spam policy that keeps you from sending emails using any other "from" address than one from your domain.

Hi

I am using yahoo webhosting and I see other threads that people are using the ecard feature and it appears that they are able to get it to work. I noticed in the file mailer.inc.php that their are three options mail, sendmail or smtp. looks like this
    /**
     * Method to send mail: ("mail", "sendmail", or "smtp").
     * @var string
     */
    var $Mailer            = "mail";

What should this be set to?

Checked with yahoo and they are saying they do not block any emails in their webhosting. Is their a way to use my domain email so others can use this feature. Like getting my domain address to pop up automaticly in the your email address box?

Are their any work arounds like this feature and would love for people to be able to send ecards.

any help would be greatly appreciated

don't edit the code in mailer.inc.php. You can specify the method to send emails in coppermine's config. We can't tell you what method to use (smtp or sendmail) - ask your webhost.

Either should work according to yahoo. I have tried both ways with the info supplied by yahoo and still wont work unless it is coming from my domain. Anyway to hard wire my email into the sender field. I didnt change anything in mailer.inc.php just noticed it says mail and not sendmail at install I set it up for sendmail.

Thanks,
Mike

It's clear, YAHOO will not send any mail when it's not orginated from it self.
you can create another mail account to send ecard, if you don't want populate your main account.
i.e. ecards@eastgermanshepherdpups.com or greeting@eastgermanshepherdpups.com or ...
