Hello,
I need to include FLV files in my gallery. I modify the filetype association with a plugin. But the flash player don't read the video... Everything is ok with swf files but I can't play FLV files... I don't understand why and can't find where the trouble is...
Do you know a mod or tips to help me ? Thanks !
Regards

Post a link to your page and what exactly you did (screenshots are great for illustration - attach them to your posting using "Additional options" when composing your message); a link to the plugin thread you're refering to might help as well.

AFAIK, FLV files cannot be streamed like SWF files.  A special FLV player needs to be installed on the server.  Does your server have this?

Ok, very simple, the plugin is «Filetypes_editor» and I add a new filetype as :
flv     application/x-shockwave-flash     movie     Flash player
But as kegobeer said FLV cannot be streamed like swf files apparently...
I have a FLV player on my server but I don't know how to link FLV file extension with. I have only 4 choices when I add a new filetyle : Windows media player, flash player, quictime and Real player. It will be perfect if I could add a new player... Do you know how to do that ?
Thanks !

Up... Could you help me please ? I can't finish my homepage...

If you upload a FLV file, then visit it directly with your browser (ie: yoursite.com/movie.flv), does the correct player open?

I tryied but no, the correct player doesn't open...
Perhaps it's possible to add a link to the player in the Coppermine configuration files ? Something like «open the flv files with http://www........swf» ? But where ?

kegobeer

You need a browser plug-in that will handle flv files.  I would seek assistance from a Flash forum, as they are much better equipped to handle your question.  Once you know how to make your browser use the correct player, you can come back and get Coppermine assistance.
