Hello All.

I am attempting to install your photo album on my server, however have been unsucessful.  I get to the main install webpage and fill in the appropriate information.  When i hit "lets go", i recieve the error message "Unable to write config file 'include/config.inc.php'".

I have read through ever topic on the forum in regards to this error message and have followed the recommened steps but it still fails.  I am positive that the config.inc.php.sample has no restrictions on the file, read only is not selected, and none of the archiving options are selected.  I created my own file called config.in.php and edited the file with the correct information as well but it still fails.  I am totally out of ideas... Any suggestions?  Here is my setup.

Coppermine Photo Gallery version 1.4.8
Server = Windows Server 2003
PHP and MySQL are properly installed and functioning correctly
IIS 6

Thanks for your time

Sami

You are the man/woman.  Just for future reference just in case, i knew it needed write permissions but i didnt know what user account to set the permissions for (internet guest account).  So that was the key.  thanks a bunch!

Glad you were able to solve this. Setting permissions is being explained in the coppermine documentation as well. If you have further questions, please make sure to read the documentation before asking on the board.
May or may not apply to you, but I'll post this anyway: self-hosting is not recommended.
