Hi,

I am planning to incorporate coppermine 1.4.9 to my existing website that has MySql Database and users.
I want to give a certain category of registered users (already existing ) the privilege to create their photo gallery and upload pics that can be viewed by all visitors.

Is it possible to do this. Has this topic been discussed earliear ? Can someone please show me the path, rest I will do. How does coppermine integrate with other applications ? There must be a way to guide coppermine to my users registration table in the database.

Wud appreciate the help / guidance.

You can make a new bridge file for your app, taking the existing bridge files as examples.

nims

Thanks wud certainly try that. If anyone has ever tried this pls let me know.

Others have, that's where the existing bridge files come from: some have been created by the coppermine devs, some have been created by users and subsequently have been contributed to the community.
Without details (knowing your custom app that you're planning to bridge with), you can't expect more details except users replying "I succeeded creating a bridge file" or "I haven't been able to do so". Neither message will help you at all.

Thanks for the reply. I wud be glad to send the details ony if I know what details are required. Shud I PM you the details of website URL etc. ?
To brief you I hv a model management website where I already have registered members with different privileges. I want to add functionality of Coppermine to the website. Basically I need certain registered members only to create their albums under specific categories, like female models shud be able to create their albums in female models category only and so on. I want to use my existing website's regisration form and registration table. So a bridge is required to basically authenticate login using existing website database table and permiting users to create albums in specific categories depending on their membership.

Wud really appreciate help.
Maky.

I haven't asked to be PMed. Read up board rules and my signature! I definitely will not be creating a custom bridge file for you. You need it -> you code it.

Well Mr. GauGau I sincerely appologise for voilating the forum rules in ignorance. However I find you to be quite short tempered and highly stressed. In your interest may I suggest you to take a break so that you can learn to be bit relaxed and polite. You never know whom you are talking to on the other side of the net, do u ?  ;)

Wud appreciate polite recommendations / suggestions for my queries.

I don't consider my reply to be rude nor impolite. I apologize if you have got a different impression; may be related to the fact that English is not my first language. I'm not trying to be confrontational, but imo you are. It's part of my "job" to remind users who faill to respect board rules to do so in the future.
You already have been told what you need to do: take a look at the existing bridge files to be able to come up with a custom bridge file for your setup. There simply can not be any other advice.

True, you never know that. You could change this by telling us who you actually are, if you think this is an important piece of information that would have an impact on my replies. I have nothing to hide - links to my profile and the about page should give you an idea who I am. However, I doubt that you are Tim Berners-Lee, Linus Torvalds or Rasmus Lerdorf. But even if you were - what difference would this make? Board rules apply to all users, no matter who they are in real life.
