URGENT!!!

I have around 1.000 pictures in my Gallery already. Today I install Name File to Album mover v0.1 (Soulfly) and right after that no pictures are shown on my gallery any more. Could anyone help to get them back? Thanks.

I checked again by FTP and cannot tell where my pictures go. There is no clue to find the pictures though my host said the storage is still high. It should be much less if the pictures has been deleted.

Ooooh, I will be in big trouble if I cannot get those pictures back. My members will kill me then...

Can anyone help????:o

Iced Coffee

Please help, please please.... I am going to die...

I am thinking of rolling my gallery back to 1 month ago when I did backup the last time. As it is quite big, I was lazy to make backup. It would be bad for me and my members to upload some pictures again, but I found no helps by now... Can anyone do something with this? I am losing patience now...

Hic hic

This is not a hotline. Read http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#lamesupport

Oh oh, not a hotline, and I get 2 more negative karma for this? So bad!!!

I am just a user, and I am not a coding expert. I just used what you provide in the plugin package. And you think this is not your business? It will be bad for anyone who happens to download it, and use it. I don't want to be a troll here, but this makes me feel bad.

Maybe I need to roll back my album and try to get over with this problem myself. But could you please make a note to everyones that they should never touch the plugin namely File to Album mover v0.1 (Soulfly) in the official plugin package at the download page? Or can you test if it really works? From the name and description, I found this:

QuoteName: File to Album mover v0.1 (Soulfly)
Author: M. van Gorkom
Description: Move an image to the directory that is named after the album it is in

But actually it never works with any version of CPG. I have tested it on CPG 1.4.8, 1.4.9 and yesterday I downloaded new one 1.4.10 and it deleted all the existing pictures on our sites, and only keep the name there (pls see the attachment). Even after I installed the plugin, I uploaded several pictures and find it no better. No pictures can be displayed, even on newly installed and updated CPG. So why you keep it there in the official plugin package? Could anyone test and confirm this so that Gaugau will believe me?

Sorry if this post makes you feel bad. But as a loyal member and user, I always trust that you only provide us the best solution for our gallery, even the addon someone else developed as contribution to the CPG. Please don't say that it's not your business when your members' websites die for just this silly thing.

I still keep my words even if you want to put another negative karma on me. Thanks.

Karma meta discussion is not going to improve your karma rating. Shouting "urgent" and bumping twice in one day is what I call "lame". Review your attitude. This is free support, given by unpaid volunteers. If something doesn't work as expected, roll back to the stage when things worked for you. If you can't, then you shouldn't have fiddled with it in the first place.
Plugins are user contributions. The dev team can only give limited support for those user contributions (if at all). You agreed to those rules when you signed up.

Exactly, it is not my business. From the announcement thread of the plugin package:

As a courtesy to end users we have bundled all plugins that we're aware of into a plugin package. It contains all plugins from the cpg1.4 plugin contributions. You will just need to extract the content of the plugins sub-folder to your local hard drive.
The plugin package is just a snapshot of the user-contributed plugins at the stage the package gets bundled. It's mandatory that you understand:
  • There is no guarantee that the plugin package is up-to-date: individual plugins may have been updated, new plugins may have been added since the package has been released
  • Some plugins come with instructions, others don't: it's recommended that plugin authors provide a readme together with their plugin, but not all plugins come with one. For the ones that don't come with instructions, we have added a readme within the corresponding folder that contains a link to the thread that deals with the plugin
  • The plugin package in itself doesn't get supported: as suggested, it is only being provided as a courtesy. If you have questions on particular plugins, ask on the correspoding threads
  • Don't apply plugins on production servers just out of curiosity, but only if you need them.
  • Target audience for the plugin package are mainly those who want to test plugins on their local testbed and  plugin authors who want to test compatibility issues with other plugins. We're aware that there are users who just want to add every possible feature to coppermine and therefor apply whatever plugin/mod/hack that they can get. You're welcome to do so, but don't complain if things get messy.

No support: the plugin package goes unsupported, it comes as-is. Don't reply to this thread asking for support on individual plugins. Unrelated replies to this thread will be deleted without further notice.
The readme that comes with the package says the same thing.

Being an end user without coding skills is a lame excuse for not reading the instructions. Don't shout at me, I'm not the culprit for your site behaving unexpectedly because you applied a user-contributed plugin with backing up your stuff first.

Iced Coffee

Thank you anyway. I rolled back. And thanks for 2 additional negative karmas.

I had identical results.  This is a plugin which is not ready for use.
