Hi forum

I would like to have the albums directory located differently from default - at the root of my server - and not under the coppermine dir.

I have configured the location to be ../../albums in the "Files and thumbnails advanced settings" and I am able to locate and add the uploaded directories/files via the "batch add files" as usual.

But when I try to view the pictures, all I see is the filenames, not the pictures.

Thanks in advance

Peter Sindrup

PS: I have tried to search for this problem on the forums, but to no avail

Post a link to your gallery. The albums directory must be inside the webroot.

When the albums directory is "two levels down" (peter.sindup.dk/coppermine/albums) the ../../ should bring the albums folder "up" to the webroot - right?

Thanks in advance

Peter

No, ../ would bring you to the webroot. ../../ is one level too far.

... but if I configure the albums location to be ../albums the "batch add files" does not "see" the sub-directory I have uploaded into the /albums dir.

Hi Nibbler

I was aparently trying to move the albums dir. "one level to high"
Could I ask you to confirm, that that is not possible?

I have now moved the albums dir to peter.sindrup.dk, and everything works just perfectly. :-)

Thanks a lot and a happy new year to you

Peter

The albums directory needs to be accessible via the internet, that means it needs to be inside the webroot. You can have it higher than that but you'd need to make a symlink or code changes to do so.

psindrup

It makes perfect sense to me  ;D

All I have to do now, is to figure out how to create a symbolic link at www.servage.net - but that's a totally different matter all together.  ;)

Thanks a lot for assisting me with this matter

Feel free to close this "case"
