Error Message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted at (null):0 (tried to allocate 1600 bytes) in /var/www/html/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 176

This is an outdated thread for an outdated, unsupported version of coppermine. If you have issues with uploading, read the docs that come with coppermine. If you're actually still using cpg1.2.x, then upgrade asap. Locking.
