SEO Position in Google

I have a domain well positioned in google, when I install Coppermine and create a direct link from homepage, it's pssible this  affects to my position?

If this link have bad effects for Google I think in restric this area with robots.txt.

I have planned then add links to the description pictures on coppermine pointing to descriptions pages of my homepage, I think this affect good to the positioning.

But I need to know if there are more solutions or better solutions to link properly this pages.
