There are other posts on this error message, but I did not see answer.

When I try to upload files they appear to upload properly, but when I assign to albums I get error message:
"The previous file could not be placed"

I have assigned RWX permissions (Windows/IIS) to Albums and Include directories for user 'everyone'.

I have read the troubleshooting directions and enabled debug mode and created user 'test' password 'test'. URL is

http://www.mackinweb.net/cpg1410/index.php

When I Set the upload form configuration for all groups to "Single file uploads only" (set File upload boxes to "1", URI upload boxes to "0" and No. of boxes to "fixed") everything works properly.

When I change configuration back to enable multiple downloads the error message returns on assigning uploaded pictures to albums.

Thanks in Advance
John M.

It works if the File upload is set to '1' - if it is set to anything else I get the error message.

Try logging in as user test2 password test2. I have created a new group that has file upload set to '5'. Trying to assign the uploaded picture to an album give the error message.

Thanks,
John M.

You appear to be running into server-sided restrictions, refer to the sticky thread on this sub-board to find out what server-sided restrictions may exist and what you might do. Try FTP-uploads plus batch-add (which is the recommended upload method for you as admin anyway).

Issue solved then? You can still allow your users to upload files (one at a time), while you (as admin) can batch-add. Acceptable workaround?
