I've uploaded nearly 6000 files via the batch upload onto my site.  I'm at 3 Gigs already, my server company, http://www.servage.net/?coupon=cust30650, allows me up to 250 Gigs of just storage space so its not an issue.  The bandwidth is also immense...i have about 2.1 TB monthly and i haven't even reached 1/2 Gig yet since its a new site.  I use the bach upload function all the time.  I ftp gigantic compressed files onto the .www file in my server, i use the server's own utility to easily unzip the files, reset chmod permissions to 777, and batch upload.  Easy fo Cheezy, until yesterday.  Now the single file upload function doesn't work, then soon after the batch upload function stopped working, but the files were still accessible on the homepage.  Then last night none of the pictures or videos appear when you click on them.  You can only see the home page thumbnails and the main category links, but when u click on them you get an error message.  The only message that i get is that the server cannot find the file.  Inside the server all the files are in tact.  However, i do know that when you batch upload all the files are reassigned new names that are completely different to what they were named while in the server.  the link path has already been renamed by coppermine.

anyways, my server company, servage, is looking into the problem to see if it is server related.  they enabled the server .htaccess, not one of my files in .www, but i'm guessing the script for the server running my site, and we've had no success so far.  has this happened to anyone else as well?  any suggestions??

Post a link. If you have an upload issue then do as suggested in the upload troubleshooting section of the manual.

I have discovered the culmination of the effect of the error but its cause is deep in the programming.  For some reason all the files, pictures & videos alike, have a bizaar .html suffix on their urls.  I'm not sure where this is coming from but i am sure that this is the main reason why nothing seems to appear when i click on the file because the server isn't recognizing that path in any of its files.  I was just twiddling with my computer a few minutes ago and decided to click on my browing history.  I clicked on yesterday and the day before and found pretty much all my files in tact.  They appear almost exactly how they did when everything was working just fine.  The big difference is that thier url did not contain that wierd .html ending.  For instance if i type in the file ending with:
                      xxxxxx.com/displayimage.php?&pos=-3555

then the image appears in tact exactly how it was originally, within the nice 600x400 (or so) rectangular frame, and a series of related pics under it.  however, when i click the image itself i am redirected to:

                      xxxxxx.com/displayimage-14-118.html

so for some wierd reason a malfunction krept in that decided to rename everything.  i do not know why....  i'm still looking into it.  pehaps i messed up something, although it doesn't seem to make any sense considering that the only real modification that i made was with the theme.  And within the theme itself, the .html file where i added some banners.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this??

i had to reinstall coppermine all over again...reuplode the files via batch.  things are working fine now.  i'm avoiding the "admin tools" section where some of the nominative infusions are.  i think even disabling them is only effective before the change occurs.  but its great now.  thanks for the support!!

oops ! I've a coppermine gallery bridged with joomla, should that mean that i can never use SEF or a joomla SEO plugin??
i spent so many time to organize my galleries ! i don't want to lose them all !

I guess you can use the Joomla SEF_URL thing (not sure though, as I don't know Joomla), but not the SEF_URL plugin that comes with Coppermine, which is still considered to be experimental.
