I am having a porblem when i try to batch add files. This use to work before but not now. I get X's instead of thumbnails, and if i continue to put the files into the album i created the files are not there.
I made sure the permissions are correct (777 or 775)
Just to match sure i am doing this right and dont get flamed i will explain.
I use WsFTP to connect to my domain and create new folder in (/public_html/photos/albums/uploads) (photos is the coppermine)
Set permissions to 777 and then upload my files or file then i set the permission on the file to 777 just in case.
Then i create a new album and apply the modifications.
then i batch add files and select the folder i created via FTP.
instead of the thumbnails i get X's. Am i missing something.

i use a hosting company and here is the server info:
PHP version 4.4.2
Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.10

Is this a php.ini problem? I have looked at the upload trouble doc but nothing about X's does not give me a error.

Thanks.

I have looked at the upload trouble doc
Really? Did you read the section that is formatted in red to catch your attention
QuoteWhen asking for support on the coppermine forum, post a link to your site and a test user account (the test user mustn't be in the admin group!) with upload privileges, with the above mentioned settings in place - this way, supporters can see the error messages as well. Do not post debug_output unless requested.

When people have issues with uploading and decide to post their question on the Coppermine support board, they usually are told to read this upload troubleshooting section. Many of them fail to do so properly, which results in frustration both for users as well as supporters. To make this absolutely clear: the above mentioned steps are absolutely mandatory, no matter what skill level you have, no matter what upload method you have troubles with. Failing to do exactly as suggested will result in your request for help being ignored. Yes, this applies to you. We mean it!

I have the same problem.
I did everything that http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_trouble that page said to do. But I still get the X'es. The weird thing is I don'T get it with every file, just a couple of them. And I tried making 'em smaller too, but that didn't help.

Enabling the debug mode didn't teach me much, though.
I set up a test user account.

I hope you guys can help me, this is just really frustrating.
And oh - an example of the file I wanted to upload but didn't work: http://alexis-online.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-21806

First of all, you'll need to upgrade: you're using cpg1.4.9, while the most recent stable currently is cpg1.4.10. Upgrading is mandatory.

Uploading works fine by http - see http://alexis-online.net/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-21826

A deep link to the file that you have issues batch-adding is http://alexis-online.net/gallery/albums/userpics/GG30101.jpg. It clearly shows that the file is corrupt. Try uploading a non-corrupt version of the file. To do so, open the file with a desktop-app and use the save-as option. Make sure that it isn't corrupt and that it is using the RGB pallette.

Ohh, great thank you so much!
I had no idea there was something wrong with the file! I saved them in Paint now instead of Photoshop and it works!

And I'll be sure to upgrade, thanks so much again! :)
