I am using the following versions:

Coppermine 1.4.10
Joomla 1.0.12
PHP 4.4.4
MySql 4.1.21
Medhi cpg bridge - most recent download (2 days ago)

I have coppermine bridged into my joomla site and it works great except trying to password protect user albums. The concept of my site is that all users will be able to upload into my public galleries. In addition, users may create their own albums and limit who can see them by setting a password on the album.

I have the following set in the Coppermine config:

Albums can be private = YES
Allow unlogged users access = YES

In addition I have the REGISTERED group set where personal galleries are not allowed and the AUTHOR group allowing personal galleries.

I created an account and assigned them to the AUTHOR group. Logged in as that user I was able to create an album and set the following:
Album can be viewed by: ME Only
Album Password: GUEST01
Album Password Hint: Be my guest 01.

Logging in as a REGISTERED user or going to the gallery without login, I cannot see any entries under the user galleries. I am expecting to see the PRIVATE album with the private icon and be able to select it, log in with the password above, and view it.

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

1) Post a link
2) Set "Files and thumbnails advanced settings > Show private album Icon to unlogged user" to "yes" in Coppermine's config

I verified the files and thumbnail advance setting> show private album icon to unlogged user is set to YES

You will need to login to the site. The user accounts I am testing with are:

trekker_basic/tester - owner of the password protected album
fototrekker/tester - trying to view password protected album

I assume you will need access to an admin account to view the config setup. Is there an email address I can send it?

I forgot to mention, follow the "Gallery Manager" menu item to the Coppermine bridged gallery.

Not knowing where to turn from here I decided to reinstall CPG1410 and start over. I did this and am having the same results. I allow several groups to have private albums and have set the allow unlogged users to see the private icon. I set the album to ME ONLY but the album is available to the group. All others do not see the album or the private icon. Not sure where to go from here.

Actual link to Coppermine is http://www.fototrekn.com/cpg1410/
There's something fishy with your bridge: clicking on the coppermine login link sends me to http://www.fototrekn.com/cpg1410/login.php?referer=index.php (as expected), which redirects me (since you're bridge) to http://localhost/cpg1410/index.php?option=com_login&Itemid=88888888

I suggest looking into this issue first - start a new thread on the bridging sub-board after having read the sticky thread there.

However, using joomla's login box at the left side of the screen I was able to log in using the account you posted. Shockingly, it's an admin account (you must never post an admin account on a public forum!). As you're bridged to joomla I couldn't fix this in the first place, so I just edited out the admin account in your above prosting. It's mandatory that you change the password of that user immediately!

It would have been extremely helpfull if you would have posted a deep link to the album that doesn't behave as suggested. I'm not willing to click through loads of categories and albums just to figure out what particular album you're refering to.

Bottom line: do your homework, use some common sense, then come back and post the needed information (a non-admin test user account and a deep link are the minimum information needed).

I posted the links and test accounts that I was using above. Since I recieved no feedback I decided to post the admin account which was not wise I agree. I changed the passwords almost immediately but I see you did hit the site and the admin account. Thanks for editing out of this post but it has been changed.

I am not sure that any of the information posted here has been of any use to me at all. I will follow your advice and "do my homework" and see if I can resole this myself.

I found an answer to this issue in the following post:

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=29001.0

I basically had to create a public album in the user gallery with the private albums and now logged in as other users I get the Private icon. The problem with this is now I have to have a public album for each user to ensure that the private albums appear.
