I just upgraded from 1.3.3 to 1.4.10.
I printed the upgrade instructions, the highlighted each instruction as it was done making sure I got each step correct. Now I can't login. I've check the sql database to make sure I was using the username and password exactly as it is in there. Below is the error that I get when I try to view an image. The login just says "Can't login. Try again"
I've been over and over the upgrade instructions and just can't find anything I might have missed. I've also been through these forums looking and can't find any solutions. Please help. My gallery is at http://photography.dunnnet.com

Your themes are still version 1.3.3, as are many other files. Make sure you uploaded the new files from the package, overwriting the old ones. Double check the dates of the files on the server and use versioncheck.php once you are able to login.

Herb

Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I'll go double check it all again. Thanks again.

Herb

Ok, Nibbler. I can now view all photos and everything as far as I can tell works fine EXCEPT I still can't get logged in. I've been through all the directories and made sure they were up to date. Nothing shows up in the error log. It just says (above the login fields) *** Couldn't log in. Try again ***. When I tried to run the versioncheck.php it says You don't have permission to access this page. so I'm assuming I have to be logged in as admin to even get to it. Any other clues?? Thanks again for your help.

Nibbler

Were you bridged prior to the update? - if so then you need to use your original Coppermine admin account until you redo the bridge.

Do you have a test account or anything you can post so we can test?

Herb

No not bridged. It was running as a stand alone gallery. I tried creating an new account and that went through fine except it still won't allow me to login under that one either. The new account is Photo_Admin with the default password sent in the email that it sends out. Thanks again.

Nibbler

You've lost me. How did you create this new account without being able to login?

Herb

I clicked on Register, then filled in the info requested, then was notified of the email sent. I then went to my email program and read the email did a copy/paste of the URL that the mail included. Pasted that into my browser (firefox) it then informed me of the completion of registration and I could now log in. Sooo I tried to log in with the new user (the one mentioned above) and got the same message. After posting my last message I went into mysql database and in the cp_config it has Bridged set to zero in number form. I've been running Coppermine for years now and I'm at a total loss on this one.

Nibbler

OK, looks like something is wrong with the password. Using the password chosen during registration fails but if you request a new one that does work.

Since you seem to know how to read your db, can you check the value of enable_encrypted_passwords in the cp_config table and look at the cp_users table and see if the passwords are encrypted or not.

If they are encrypted then make sure enable_encrypted_passwords is set to 1, if they are not then make sure it set to 0.

Herb

The Enabled Encrypted Passwords value is set to 1
In the users (6 total now) the first two are not encryped. Those were the only two users up until I upgraded. After the upgrade I tried two new ones and it appears that you created one called test and that one as well is encrypted along with the two new users I tried.
I'll set the enabled to 0 and try to get in under my usual user name. Thanks again for your help.

Herb

Whoo hoo.. You the man. Got in.. Thank you so much for all your help. It is greatly appreciated.
