please can any expert explain how to install sef urls plugin correctly ????

i searched forums many times and i found alot of people ask this question but no answer
most answers says"The SEF_URL plugin is experimental - if you have issues with it, turn it off."

or " your server does't support mod Rewrite "

i tested my server by small example :

in .htaccessi wrote

Code Select Expand

Redirect /google.html http://www.google.com
and point my browser to http://www.mysite.com/google.html
it redirects me to Google.com then my hosting is ok

please this topic is call for help to solve this problem and please solve this problem here step by step to be guide to all forum searchers about this problem

Redirect is not the same thing as mod_rewrite. If you want to test mod_rewrite then use actual mod_rewrite code.
