Hi, I'm running CPG 1.4.10 and want to password protect an album, but when I enter a password into the passowrd filed for the album it doesn't actually do anything, everyone can still access the album and no prompt for a password is given

The CPG gallery is bridged to an XMB forum and everything else seems to be working fine, but I'm unable to password protect an album. Could someone help please.

Thanks.
Alan.

1) cpg1.4.10 is outdated. Upgrade!
2) Even with my mind-reader-hat on, I can not advise anything. The spirits are veiled. My rabbit's foot doesn't work, nor my crystal ball. My broom is broken as well. Maybe you could ask for some real-world help instead of spiritual help. To do so, post a link to your gallery, a deep link to the album that is supposed to be password-protected. Posting a screenshot of the corresponding album's properties screen might help as well (attach the screenshot to your posting using "additional options" when composing your message). This usually is more helpfull and less vague than guessing games.

OK, thanks, I just wasn't sure what you would need to know to help out....

The gallery is at: http://www.sasappers.net/gallery/

The album is at: http://www.sasappers.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=20

A screenshot of the album properties page (or at least part of it) should be attached.

Let me know if there is anything else you need to know in order to help.

Thanks.
Al.

I got a password prompt. The people who don't need a password, are they logged into xmb at the time?

Works exactly as advertized for me - see screenshot. Keep in mind that you only have to enter the password once. The authentification is being stored in a cookie then, so if you want to test if album password protection works, you'll have to clear your cookies first.

OK... Thanks... I'm going to upgrade the installation and then I will check it again....

I've tried it here but haven't ever been prompted for a password, so it shouldn't be stored in the cookies.

I'll do some more tests and see what happens.

Thanks.
Al.

Yes... I've tested it again and I get a password prompt if not logged in, but if I am logged in I can get straight into the album without a password prompt.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Yes. that seems to be the case.... I take it then that admins get automatic entry to the album without a password prompt?
