To whoever it concerns,

There is an illegal (underage) and unauthorized picture on a website that is powered by coppermine photo gallery.  I sent an email using whois on checkdomain.com and the address listed was not real--the mail was returned.  I need help contacting these people, because I want the picture taken down immediately.  I cannot post the link for you because you insist that support be public and I do not want people to see it.  PLEASE email me back at the address I registered with.  I do not want to take legal action with this, but if the picture is not removed then I will have to.  Thank you.

The developpers of CPG and the support board are not in any way responsible for how people put cpg to use. It is a shame there are these of low life people around but really we can not be held responsible for how they use cpg. You would have to contact the hosting company which hosts the website you speak about. Or if that does not work try to find out where the hosting company is located and contact local authorities or child protective services.

We're not affiliated with a site that shows child porn. They probably just use our software. Read up http://coppermine-gallery.net/team/#abuse
In fact, the same principle applies to all kinds of software: there are evil people who do illegal things using computers with Windows as operating system. You can't blame Microsoft though that their operating system is being used by bad people for illegal activities.

Here is what I do.  I send email to the following addresses at 'hosting company'.  One is surely going to find a valid one.

support@'hosting company', webmaster@'hosting company',abuse@'hosting company',info@'hosting company',sales@'hosting company'..  zap one to them, and let them know, so they may delete and/or suspend the account until action is removed.  The webmaster may not even be aware that it is one his site..

Why would you even think that Coppermine should be notified of this issue?   They are the developers, not providing the hosting content..
