Users to be able to create albums in a category other then user gallery

Allow users in a specific group to be able to create an album in a category other than the user gallery. When they create a new album it needs approval from admin before going live. Has anyone done this and why is it not already within core software? It should not be to hard to do this. You already have same type of feature for picture upload and being approved. If it is not already done I am going to do it. I have to have this.

1.5 ? ? when did this get released? 1.4.14 Stable I thought was last version. We in beta testing and I don't even know it ahah. I need to check out private forum sections more often. Link would be great on this 1.5 version you speak.

cpg1.5.x has not been released yet. The sub-board "feature requests" is for requests for future versions of coppermine. Cpg1.5.x will be a future version. So your request is valid in the first place (although it has been requested often before, so yours basically is a repetition). Nibbler's reply was meant to tell you that your requested feature will be in the next version. You'll have to wait for the release. Of course you're welcome to review the preliminary documentation for cpg1.5.x and even get your hands on the source code by checking out the subversion repository, but you'll have to keep in mind that cpg1.5.x currently goes completely, utterly unsupported, so you'll have to figure out on your own how to accomplish this.

Thanks so much for the info. I can look through the code and find all the details to accomplish this so I will look for this source code that you speak.

Also any latest on when 1.5 will be released or beta? I can't find info on that and sorry for making a repeat post on something that has already been mentioned. I did a search and didn't quite find the exact request but a request along the same lines I just through another usergroup parameter or selector I should say feature.

There is no scheduled release date available. It'll be released when it's ready - can't tell you more. As I suggested: you're welcome to perform a svn checkout if you're adventurous and familiar with software in alpha (pre-release) stage.
