Hi, I installed Coppermine last night via GoDaddy.

it's here:
http://www.jewish-scrapbooking.com/gallery

I got myself registered somehow..but when I tried to have someone else register to test it out, we can't find a way to actually 'register' - where is the 'register' button? Tried logging him in thinking maybe there would be a redirect to 'register when that didn't work but no such luck. How do I fix?

Thanks!

LynnAnne

NEVER MIND - found it.

Don't use auto-installers - they suck. Especially since the version you installed using godaddy is outdated.

Answer is: you need to allow new user registrations in coppermine's config.

For the benefit of others you should have posted what you did to solve your issue instead of just posting that you figured out. Anyway, as suggested above: it's a config option named "Allow new user registrations".

Because of people like you who would have destroyed their posting once solved we have deliberately disabled the feature for regular users to delete postings or edit them out. That's the whole point of running a support board: questions and answers remain available for others with similar issues. Think of a forum as a knowledge base, not as a means of individual support only.

Marking thread as "solved".

LynnAnne

thanks for marking it 'solved'. I saw some posts marked that way but thought admin was marking it. I'll try to figure out how to do that next time it comes up.

Only moderators can mark threads as "solved" or similar. You as a non-moderator are just suppossed to report that the issue is solved. However, as I suggested above: you're suppossed to resolve your threads by replying with an explanation how you solved your issues.
