i cant seem to figure out how to resze the thumbnails and the pics i went to the resize thing in coppermine but it didnt do any thing and i changed some settings to reflect on new pics and it didnt do any thing either

Casper

When you change the thub settings in config, it only affects pics added later.
To make the changes apply to existing pics, you need to rebuild the thumbs with the resize utility.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

This only sizes picture DOWN? It will not size up pictures that are already smaller than the limit set in the configuration, right?

hyperion

Correct. You cannot increase the original picture size without sacrificing quality.  (This is true of any imaging software, even Photoshop.)
"Then, Fletch," that bright creature said to him, and the voice was very kind, "let's begin with level flight . . . ."

Thanks for verifying. I have used some programs before that will size all images to the same dimensions regardless of their size. :-/

as hyperion pointed out: sizing up will mean loss of quality (you can't display things that are not there). For sizing down before upload, there are a lot of free scripts that will let you batch-resize. I prefer Irfan View for this, one of the most popular...
