I noticed someone had a similar situation of trying to get from 4.17 to 4.18 and it still said 1.4.17 in the config.  I realize that 17 -> 18 was just a patch, but I'm going from 14 -> 18, which the documentation refers to as a full upgrade.  Nonetheless, the source code and the config still refer to "1.4.14 (stable)".

Also, upon FTP upload, I noticed that all the language files failed (permission denied).  So, did I not actually upgrade?  Or did it all work fine but the documentation is off?  Is there any way to test the version otherwise?

Thank you.

It says:
QuoteYou have currently installed: 1.4.14
If you think this is entirely wrong and you're supposed to be running a higher version of Coppermine, you probably haven't uploaded the most recent version of the file include/init.inc.php

Mandatory files missing:       1
The one in red is:
albums/edit/no_FTP-uploads_into_this_folder!

I took the latest versions, removed the albums directory, config.inc.php and anycontent.php files, and then tried a mass upload.  It went through, I went to update.php...  and...  I'm still at 1.4.14?  Help?  Should I try all this again?

You probably only uploaded the files in coppermine's root folder, but failed to upload the subfolders. Make sure to upload all files from the cpg1.4.18 package (including the sub-folders). Make sure that your FTP app is configured to overwrite existing files.

I Just upgraded from 1.4.10 to 1.4.18 and followed thie instructions that state:
Quoteupload all of the new files and directories making sure not to overwrite the include/config.inc.php file, your anycontent.php file or the albums directory.

When I do the version check it is telling me that I need to update the anycontent.php file from 1.4.10 to 1.4.18

The upgrade instructions say not to overwrite this file, but it is telling me I have to for the upgrade to be complete. I don't want to completely mess up my gallery.

Do I overwrite the anycontent.php file or not?

Don't overwrite it and ignore versioncheck on that aspect (as mentioned many times over already in various threads on the upgrading board).
