what do i need to include in this file to remove this message?

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 54263808) (tried to allocate 20468 bytes) in /home/**/public_html/gallery/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 262

Do you get this problem when uploading?

If so, I suggest you read the Trouble-shooting the upload process thread

http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,24088.0.html

It gives some advice on a number of settings you could try.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Similar tasks are being performed and the same thread mentioned above has the answers. As the message suggests, you are using too much memory on the server

Unless you have root access to your server it is unlikel that you will be able to change the php.ini file.
