I know there have been post before on this subject. But I wasnt understanding so I posted another one.

I have byethost gallery and when I go to upload, URL, and batch it all says "Error: Impossible To Move"

I tried changing 777 to 755 .. I contacted byethost and had them check my permissions and they said it was on 777.
So I do not understand what else to do. Can anyone help me?

lostxlullabyx

Is anyone going to answer me. I really need help.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem, could they please tell me.

or point me to someone who can.

thank you

lostxlullabyx

I need help with my gallery. Everytime I try to upload a photo it says "Error: Impossible To Move"
I read the other forums about this and they still were not helping me.

I checked the permissions and changed them to 777. It didn't work.

Is there another way to fix this problem?

I have a byethost gallery, here is the URL
http://lostlullaby.byethost12.com

Thank You

Joachim Müller

This is not a hotline >:(. Try the docs. There's a section in it named "asking for support on upload issues". Do exactly as suggested there. Merged your double-postings into one.

lostxlullabyx

Ok thank you

ANd sorry for posting 2, no one was answering me.

I contacted my host all the permissions are on 777 and they even tried 755. It still doesn't work.

Is there any other way to fix the error?

lostxlullabyx

Is there any possible way that I can give you all my information and you try to fix the problem.
Because I just can't figure out how.

Joachim Müller

I already told you what to do: read the docs, section "asking for support on upload issues" and do exactly as suggested there.

lostxlullabyx

I have already read that before.
I changed the permissions to 777 and 755 and I even had my webhost do it for me.

It still doesn't work.

What files have to be set to 777 and 755 ... isn't it albums, user pics, and edit?

Joachim Müller

No, you have not! Why are you being so stubborn? Are you trying to play stupid? Read the section I told you to read! Pay particular attention to the stuff highlighted in red (we highlighted it to grab your attention). Stop whining if you can't follow simple instructions.

lostxlullabyx

I'm very sorry. I am not trying to make you frustrated or mad in any way. Even though I think I am, so I am very sorry.

Hopefully I did this right. I read everything in red, so I hope I did this right. If not sorry.

Here is my website URL:
http://lostlullaby.byethost12.com

and here is the test user one:
http://lostlullaby.byethost12.com/profile.php?uid=6

The password is the same and the name.

I hope I did this right.

lostxlullabyx

Nevermind Here is the password to the test user

9tszctam

Joachim Müller

Username is "test user" without the quotes.

The actual error message when trying to upload with the test user (you never tried that yourself, did you?) is
QuoteFailed to create directory albums/userpics/10006 !

File: /home/vol5/byethost12.com/b12_1855357/htdocs/db_input.php - Line: 318
, which means that there is a permission issue on folder level - set permissions as suggested in the corresponding section of the docs. Another possible culprit is safe_mode improperly configured on your webserver. Read up the corresponding section of the docs as well.

lostxlullabyx

So I go to my FTP or file manager and go to albums, userpics, and 10006.

If so I did that and it says userpics folder is empty and It wouldnt let me change the permissions.

I'm not sure if I did it right, so correct me if I am wrong.

Joachim Müller

Did you actually read the permissions sections of the docs as I suggested? If yes, you have certainly read this resumee as well:
QuoteIf you can't figure how to set permissions properly, ask your webhost for support.
We have highlighted that section in read for you especially, since questions similar to yours get posted frequently. Since none of us is David Copperfield, we can't apply magic. You have to do as suggested I'm afraid. ::)

lostxlullabyx

Yes I read it and really didn't understand any of it.
I'm a better learner when everything is step by step...

But thank you anways, I will just have to do without.

Joachim Müller

Would it be that bad to ask your webhost?
