Hi guys,

I have read loads of the posts regarding the error:

MySQL said: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111)

All which refer the poster onto their web host.

Well I am my web host.  This has only started happening recently, so not entirely sure what changed.  When I batch add files, I get this message and have to restart mysqld to get the site back up.

Does only seem to happen on large images, so I looked into changing the php.ini options, disabled the timeout and upped the memory limit, still get the same error.

I did also try one of Joachim Müller's suggestions, to resize the images on my PC, upload them, run the batch add process and then copy over the resized images with the full size ones.  This worked fine, but when the new window opens with the full size image, it is in a small box the size of the "fake" one used to run the batch add.  So if there is a way around this, that method would work OK.

Would be nice to get to the bottom of the original error though, I have added large images before without issue

Thanks

Nibbler

Check the mysql error log. Can't really help you with server setup issues.
