First a bit of background.
I am using Coppermine 1.4 as the basis for a photo contest. The layout has 1 public album for entries, no catagories, register and upload instructions have been re written to reflect the contest... gotten up to speed on available plugin's... nav buttons and permissions have been set successfully to keep this a one album gallery. I've also successfully edited a theme in both layout and visual presentation and am 90% ready for roll out.
So I have been searching and making good use of the information here and I appreciate the work reflected.

I have used several "test subjects" to go through the Registration and Entry process and have come up with a few nits I can't solve and am looking for suggestions.
I'll be able to use the current setup as is if these are not alterable features.

1-Is it possible to strip the Upload page of all but one entry form box with Browse button? Since the aim is for registered users to enter a single photo, the multiple file options are unnecessarily confusing.

2-On the last page of the Upload process where the user asigns the image to an Album... is it possible to make the drop down box default to the one and only Gallery? Or better yet no user input needed at all and the image is placed by default.
(Believe it or not, a couple of test subjects could not figure out the right choice there. even though there's only one Album! They ended up choosing no album which lead them to an error page with no Nav buttons. Then they couldn't figure out to simply use the browser back button... Obviously I need to make this as "fool-proof" as possible.)

-Is it possible to have the Overall home page default to an open album? If not, can I change the default thumbnail that represents the Album on the default Home page to an image NOT in the album?
(The problem I'm trying to solve here is that a couple of blind test subjects have needed prompting that you need to click on the thumbnail to view the entire album contents... so I'm considering making a thumbnail icon that says "Click Here To View Contest Entries". I know I can do this by adding the image to the album and setting it as default, but it would be ideal if this image wasn't viewable in the Album.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
And thanks for a fine Gallery.

Hi,

Try to keep to one question per thread, it helps to keep things tidy.

1) You can set Coppermine to use 'single file upload mode' - just set the number of file upload boxes to 1, number of URI upload boxes to 0, number of boxes to fixed for the registered group on the groups page.

2) See mod in http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,53788.0.html

3) Not really. If you only have one album you can simply replace the default album thumbnail with your own. Alternatively you could setup a redirect.

10. One question per thread
We have a strict "One question/issue per thread rule", which helps both supporters/moderators to keep track of open/closed issues as well as users who search the board or browse it, looking for answers to their question. Don't try to "hijack" other's threads by posting unrelated questions to an existing thread.
