I have asked for a quote in the freelance section but if its not affordable I may need to attempt to sanitise my whole domain made up of several installations of wordpress, coppermine and SMF. I have read a topic on here that Im not allowed to refer to but it was very helpful in explaining what needs to be done.

The concern I have is that whilst working on coppermine, what precautions can I take to ensure a problem in smf does not reinfect coppermine ?

Huh? What topic would that be?

The only relevant posting are: Yikes, I've been hacked! Now what? that explains sanitizing and the open freelancer thread you have: Site Sanitisation - Quote Required. I don't think that you'll need any other thread, nor do I think that you'll find someone who will do the job for free, so I don't quite get the purpose of this thread.

If you do as suggested in the Yikes thread, your maintenance work should be done without re-infection.

I was hoping to sneak that one in under the Joachim radar  ::) ;D

I don't expect to find anyone to do it for free. However If I cant find a quote that is reasonable then I will have to have a crack on my own (its a good job I'm bald as I think this is enough to make our hair drop out). Anyway I read your topic (The one that shouldn't be mentioned but starts with yikes) and It was actually very very helpful, I will be advising the people over at smf to take a look and maybe do something similar on there. But the one thing I couldnt find is how to ensure other parts of the site dont reinfect the part your working on whilst your working on it. Is there a way to isolate all the site componants.

Please dont be angry if I missed something explaining this in your topic not to be mentioned as I never meant to do that and I will be revisiting it if required.

Ill put my hard hat on and retreat to the fall out zone  ;) ;)

Why do you constantly say that the thread shouldn't be mentioned? You already said

, so please be so kind and tell me who says that you're not allowed to refer to other threads? The opposite is the case: you're not only allowed to refer to other threads, but you're encouraged to let supporters know what you already have read. You're encouraged to refer to threads that have been helpfull for you by refering to them, for the benefit of others with similar issues. Stop saying that you're not allowed to refer to threads unless you have written proof from your parents that they disallowed you to refer to those threads. Alternatively, provide pics of the aliens who kidnapped you and told you to keep the Yikes thread a secret ;).

That's impossible - I read each and every posting on this entire forum except the language boards (Chinese, Russian, Persian) that I don't understand ;). But don't feel tempted to post there - your English posting there will be moved instantly to a board I monitor... How's your Chinese?
