Updated config.inc.php but still wants to connect old user

I moved a gallery/install updated imported the database and edited the config file because the new host has automatic naming conventions and predicates everything with the username. So I try to go into the gallery and get

Code Select Expand

Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !

MySQL said: Access denied for user 'coppermine'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
Is there somewhere else I need to make the changes?

have you made sure the naming is correct?

have you checked the tables in the database to make sure the url's are correct in there too

I forgot...make sure the database username is written right...not the prefix for the tables but the database username to the actual database...if you did not reset it then you need to do that in your sites control panel (server side) then insert that username and password into the config file

Thanks Heavensportal but I get the same error trying to login /gallery/login.php

Is there another way in or another file? I can check the database but I had to create it first so I know that side is good (but will look though not sure where) and then because it was so big had to have the host do the import and I'm still copying the image files (20+hours).

I looked in cpg_config (SQL noob) and only see the SMTP name and password. Where else do I look in the dB?

The config file never uploaded! I exited my FTP client and noticed it was still sitting there. Uploaded it and bingo, IT'S WORKING. I CAN REST!!!

OMG you pulled what I do at times...edit file, think i upload it ... try the site and wonder why the changes did not take effect...LOL

one must upload, editing and concentration will make it so...darn it all.

Then why don't you resolve this thread as per board rules? You haven't posted your gallery URL neither in this thread, which is again a break of board rules. This is ultimatively the last warning: the next case of you not following to board rules to a T will result in your immediate banning.
The link in your profile does not lead to a coppermine-driven gallery neither, but to a commercial site about web hosting and services, so it's against board rules as well to have that in your profile. Start playing by the rules immediately!
