unable to delete categories 1.4.25

My coppermine installation wont let me delete catergories because the operation buttons on the catergory manager are completely gone. Am i doing it wrong or is my installation not right?

, so you better fix or remove your broken German language file; looks like you're using an editor that is not capable of editing PHP files properly. When going to http://www.hadleyfamilyweb.comlu.com/gallery/?lang=english I get an authorization dialog from the browser that indicates you're using authentification on webserver (Apache) level, which is not a bright thing neither: use the authentification on coppermine level, that should be enough. Password-protecting the albums folder on webserver file system level doesn't tell the visitor where to turn to to get a username and password and just doesn't make sense when you use coppermine.
WHat category are you trying to delete that you can not delete? Are you per chance trying to delete the "User Galleries" category? You can't. As suggested in the docs that come with coppermine you can not delete that special category, but you can keep it from appearing if there is not conttent within it.

Im trying to delete the categories i made myself, not the user gallery one. I know they cant be deleted. All of the pics of seen of the category manager has buttons under the operations column and mine has none so i was just wondering why and is there any way to delete them. So can i just delete the german lang off of coppermine and would that just fix the problem? Ill remove the password authorization.

How did you do your install? Was it with your hosts installer?

At the moment your site appears down and is also with our least favourite host. Once your site is back up, go through the upgrade process. Just follow the instructions as if you were upgrading from an earlier version but use the files from the latest version downloaded from this very site. That will replace all the files with known good copies and hopefully that will fix your issues.

I uploaded coppermine using ftp filezilla. My site is down? I can still access my homepage so how can u tell? Any, i will try your upgrading method and see if that works. I appreciate the reply.

http://www.hadleyfamilyweb.comlu.com/gallery/?lang=english seems to work as expected, but http://www.hadleyfamilyweb.comlu.com/gallery/?lang=german still is broken, so you don't seem to have done as I suggested. You appear to have removed the additional password protection though.

Ya. I just may save my albums and completely reinstall and start over. I appreciate all the help.

Don't do that. Coppermine is not a desktop app that you uninstall and re-install to make issues go away. Do as I suggested instead and fix your broken files.
