Hi Joe

I will turn off 'Notices' again.

Thanks.

John.

Sorry Joachim, I had not seen your posting when I turned them on! (we were posting at the same time)

As soon as I saw it, I turned them off again.

Regards.

Just tried that Andre and it responded with :-

QuoteError
A valid form token could not be found.

File: /home/a15metz/public_html/gallery/usermgr.php - Line: 1065

I clicked on 'Create new user' then filled in the details of username and password (for the new user) and instead of hitting 'Submit',  I pasted your command in the browser header line and hit 'Enter'.  I presume that is correct?

Cheers.

John

No. My mistake. Sorry.

Please force using the curve theme (http://www.metzbigband.co.uk/gallery/?theme=curve) and then try to create a new user. If it doesn't work, disable the plugin api and try again.

Johnfromhere

I forced it as you indicated but no difference was apparent.

'Create new user' still returned a blank page.

Checked plugins.  There are none installed and 'Enable plugins' is not checked.

I enabled them and tried - same result.

I disabled them again and tried - same result.

In passing - I tried several of the themes but the appearance of the gallery stayed the same! - but that, I presume is a subject for another thread?

Regards.

John.

No need for another thread. Coppermine stores your preferred theme in a cookie. If you change the default theme in the config, the theme from your cookie will be used instead. You can overwrite it with the theme parameter in the url.

I currently don't know why you get a blank page. Can you please install a second gallery for testing purposes?

Johnfromhere

I have set up another gallery and (I think!) set it the same as the previous one in terms of privs.  The new gallery has icons by the commands, which the 'old but updated' gallery doesn't have.

I have not as yet loaded any photos.

I have set up, deleted and set up again a user and it appears to work OK.

Do you want me to set up (presumably an admin) account for you and pm you the details?

Do you want me to upload the albums/pictures as in the old gallery?  If so, should appreciate guidance on the easiest/quickest way to do so.

Regards.

John.

Please try to adjust the settings on your test gallery like on your real gallery. Try if the error occurs again.

If it works, try to create some users, upload some files, create some albums and categories and so on. That's what I would do, as a blank page is not very meaningful.

Johnfromhere

OK, Andre

Gallery (without anything uploaded) seems to be working fine.
I will try to upload some photos over the weekend and let you know how it goes.

Many thanks.

John.

Just tried uploading photos via "Multiple files - Flash driven (recommended)", but I get "Upload Error: 406", however, if I upload a single file manually, using "simple - one file at a time" it uploads OK!

I have checked the manual and cannot see any reason why a .jpg. file should not upload (unless of course, I am doing something totally stupid - which wouldn't be a first!).

Any help - again, gratefully received.

Cheers.

John.

I'm 99% convinced that your issue is based on improper webserver setup - please contact your webhost; refer to http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/errors.htm#errors_messages_webserver_406

Johnfromhere

Thanks, Joachim, I will take it up with my webhost.

Andre - I was letting you know how I had progressed with the uploading etc that you said I should do, as I said I would.  I apologise if I transgressed the rules, it was not deliberate.

If I get more problems, I will start a new thread.

Regards and thanks to both of you for your help.

No problem John. I just wanted to say that you have to open a new thread if you need support on that issue, as you won't get in here :)

Johnfromhere

No support needed, thanks Andre! ;D

Following Joachim's suggestion, I got contacted the host company and they disabled mod_security for the domain and all works fine now.

Thanks again guys for your help.

Cheers.
