i just upgraded from 1.4.x to 1.5.6 and now i can't log in as admin. i noticed that before it use to ask for user name but now it asks for e-mail and password. no combination of anything works.

i've searched here and can't find anything that looks similar. please help.

You must have changed the way users login while in config. You can change that back again after logging in as admin. To do so, please see this thread:

Lost Admin Password

Please ignore the section on "being banned" as it does not apply to you.

You know, a better way would probably be to simply change the login_method value within your cpg15x_config table back to username in phpMyAdmin.

Glad to have helped. Better, that you've solved your issue.

Yes, phpMyAdmin can be your best friend when dealing with database-driven applications such as Coppermine (among others).

Please now resolve your thread so others may see a solution to the issue when searching for similar or the same.

Thanks
Jeff

For others with similar issues: there even is a section in the documentation for cpg1.5.x that explains all kinds of issues with lost passwords: please review http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/users.htm#lost_password
