Hello, all I am a new Coppermine user & I recently downloaded cpg 1.5.6. Anyways, I am having trouble configuring/inputting the URL of my cpg folder. I understand the format should be like so:
http://yourdomain.tld/coppermine/

I just do not understand how my URL would play into this. I am hosted by 000webhost on a sub domain. Therefore, naturally my URL has I guess you can call it an "extra" before the .com. This is my URL:

I am not allowed by my host to upload into the root of my directory so I uploaded into a subfolder titled: public_html.
http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.com/

I have been attempting to use this as the URL of my cpg folder:
http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.tld

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I know I should not have downloaded this version without beginner knowledge but I guess I was thinking more or less about just having the most recent version available. I hope in spite of my negligence that someone will be willing to help me.

Please read the Documentation => http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/install.htm

Your Coppermine gallery is located at => http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.com/coppermine/cpg15x/

After reading the Documentation, If you want Coppermine as your home page move the files from http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.com/coppermine/cpg15x/ to your 'public_html' folder.
Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it. - Henry Ford

Jeff Bailey: I already did, perhaps, I did'nt read as closely as I should have and missed something.

Sorry, but I just cannot stand 000webhost but that is a discussion for somewhere else. In this case I would say ask your host for advice but I am certain you will not get a decent response.

What do you want? Do you want your users to be able to go to http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.com/ and to see your gallery? If so find wherever your current frontpage is in your structure and remove all files currently there and replace with the coppermine files. There must be no index.html file in that directory or it will take precedence over coppermines index.php file.

I have'nt had any problems with it just yet but yeah I'm just starting out with this web business. No, I just the need proper url for my cpg gallery folder.

It's currently set to this:
http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.com/coppermine/cpg15x/

but, I'm assuming it's wrong because my categories & sub categories are displaying funny & I read in the documentation this url must be correct otherwise I might experience problems. I assumed the cpg folder url I provided was wrong. Since, I didn't alter any of the files.

Where did you provide the url? Are you saying you use the crappy fantastico installer provided by 000? If that is the case we cannot support it and you will have to ask 000 for support. We just cannot know what they have done to the code nor how they install it. Alternatively you can install manually using the method outlined in our docs using a version downloaded from this site. You can then place coppermine in whatever folder your webhost allows.

I'm so sorry, Phill Luckhurst, I didn't receive an email notification that you'd posted a reply. o_O Anyways, no I did not use the auto-installer. I was going to when I first signed up at 000 but I read in the Documentation that it is not recommended. My install was entirely manual & performed by me.

I have provided a screen-capture of the location in which I provided my url.

Khryssy

Dang, I can't edit my post but this is the url in its' entirety. I just wanted to show you because it gets cut off in the capture:
http://www.worldwidewockeez.herobo.com/coppermine/cpg15x/.

Simply move all the files up 2 levels in your file structure. So, wherever the coppermine folder exists, move all the files from coppermine,cpg15x/ to there.
