I'm new and I couldn't find anything related using search.

I would like to split the uploading of images and the viewing/downloading images into two operations - with separate registration for each operation.

A unique group of users would contribute images (upload) and a unique group of users would view/download images..

I would like uploaded images monitored/controlled by Admin with images added to Data Base only after Admin approval.

Is this possible?

Any ideas/procedures on how to make this happen would be appreciated.

Have a look at the column 'Access level' in the group manager.

What I want is more than just controlling access.. I want two different front ends (entry pages). For the "upload" group I want a very simple page with just registration and upload privileges to a root upload album -- no other menu links and no access to viewing the rest of the site contents.

For the second "download" group I want to populate specific albums with images contributed by the upload group (after the images have been approved and sorted by administration) The "download" group would only be allowed to view and download from albums created by administration.

What I want to know is it possible to have to different entry pages (i.e. index.php) with the Coppermine system? Or, is the only solution to run two different Coppermine "programs" (for example cpg15xA and cpg15xB)

That's so specific, that (I doubt) you cannot accomplish your wishes with just configuring Coppermine. You'll have to edit some functions in your theme and maybe even some core functions. You can remove menu items with the Final Extract plugin easily. Please read the documentation how to set access/upload permissions.

Andre;

So I guess the answer is no --- or maybe yes ???
You should have been a politician... your double speak is just about perfect.

Does anyone else know if it's possible to have two different entry pages for the Coppermine system?

What would be the common link point (where would the two pages tap into the core system)?

Makes sense to me -- but post links to what?

Nothing is setup or active - or would a dummy site fill the bill?
That's the problem with rules and policies -- sometimes they just don't make a lot of sense :-)

But they are good to hide behind -- if your at a loss for words.

Another case of "Catch22"
I can't get any answers until my site is set up
