I was trying to log into my gallery to upload new pictures, and once I had clicked the login button (it had already automatically stored the correct information) it said that I was logged in as I guest even with my correct username and password. Why is it doing this?

Does it happen continuously or just sometimes (i.e. are you able to login if you try it again)? Can you please post a test user (non-admin) account?

New2Coppermine

This is the first time that it has happened. After I have entered my account information it says, "Welcome Guest"...so that I cannot see the admin controls.

I am new to Coppermine, so what is a test user (non-admin) account?

If you see the message "Warning your browser does not accept script's cookies" when you go to Login, then refresh the page.
If you see the message again, there is a cookie issue - either on your end or (unlikely) the server side (unless you have changed the cookie settings)
Once you do not see the message login as normal.

First you would need to login as admin and then use the Groups and Users pages...although a quick read of the docs will instruct you better than I can.

I am not recieving this warning. It just says "Welcome Guest" once I have logged in.

If the Login button / selection shows after you login as Guest, then immediately try logging in again as Admin.

I have tried to immediately log in afterwards (using my admin username and pasword) multiple times. However, it repeatedly logs me in as a guest.

The only suggestions that I can now think of are to:
   - Try clearing all cookies and cache on your browser
   - Use a different browser, do the same as above
   - Make certain that you have no firewall or A/V interfering

Your post gave me the idea to simply use a different browser. I used Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer and was able to log in with my admin account (and not as a guest). Any ideas as to why it would work with Chrome and not IE?

Probably wrong cookie settings or a third party tool that interferes somehow with IE.

Post a test user account for your gallery (without admin privileges!).

I know if must be frustrating helping out the newbies, but I don't know how to do that. My apologies! I could always stick with using Coppermine with Google Chrome if that made things easier?

Please have a look at your document package - also, go to Config >> General settings and find "enable help..." and enable it for you as admin. It is up to you to learn your way around.

How can this be fixed?

Make certain your browser is not set to "Remember" or "Autofill" things that you should be typing....
